The Bosworth Plate was commissioned to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the Battle of Bosworth in 1485. The original centre picture was painted by Andrew Jamieson, a fully trained heraldic artist, scribe and artist to the Richard 111 Society and the College of Arms, who has brought his love and knowledge of this period to this dramatic picture. The original painting has been prepared in twenty five separate ceramic colours by the late Malcolm Johnson who was trained at The Royal Worcester Porcelain. The production of the plate has been carried out by skilled craftsmen and women at the Coalport factory and is number 489 of a limited addition of 500. It comes in a dark blue satin lined box and is in immaculate.
