On Good Friday, Immanuel Baptist Church will host a Passover presentation by Kata Tar, a Hungarian missionary with Jews for Jesus. The presentation will focus on the Passover meal, with a table displaying all of the traditional symbols including unleavened bread and bitter herbs which will be used to tell the story of God’s redemption plan. Kata will explain the significance of the Passover symbols, both in ancient times and in Jewish homes today, and show how Jesus used the Passover with his disciples in the Upper Room to point to His own death and resurrection, and to institute the Lord’s Supper or Communion. Christians who have experienced the Passover tradition before have commented on the way it has strengthened their understanding of their own communion.
