Karate Classes in Peterborough and Spalding, Shotokan Karate, all ages and all levels of experience

Sensei Robin Reid 6th Dan the head of KATSU Academy of Shotokan Karate (Kaskai) teaches regularly in Peterborough and Spalding. Beginners and experienced students of all levels and all ages are always welcome to join the training sessions (Children must be over 7 years, there is no upper limit!). Everyone trains to their own ability, that ability level is constantly pushed to ensure you continue to improve and make progress in your Karate. £10 - 4 week beginners course, or £5 per session. No special clothing required, just wear loose clothes that allow free movement. Saturday: 0930 to 10.30 Spalding Castle Sports Complex Albion Street Spalding Lincolnshire PE11 2AJ Ask at reception for the Karate class and they will show you the room. Please arrive a few minutes before the class starts. Your Karate training will take you through regular gradings, through to 1st Dan Black belt ability and beyond. Guest instuctors are invited to provide special training courses giving students a wider understanding, students have the opportunity to compete in Karate Competitions if they want to. Sensei Reid 6th Dan is a long term student of Hanshi Asano 9th Dan who is based in Nottingham. Hanshi Asano 9th Dan was one of the original Japanese instructors to bring Karate to the UK in the 1960's and was instructed in Japan while Gichin Funakoshi the founder of modern Karate was still alive. KASKA International was founded in 1990 by Sensei Robin Reid, 6th Dan. As Chief Instructor of the Academy, his goal is to share his years of experience in the many benefits of traditional karate training with his students. Traditional Shotokan has its roots in Okinawa, where the style was founded by Master Gichin Funakoshi. Kara-te literally translates to "empty hand" traditional karate is unarmed self-defence.
