The Kingdom Worship Evening will be a special highlight at this year’s CRE International (Thur 19 May, 6.30pm). Toni Kelly and Ibe Giantkiller will introduce a celebration of praise and worship, joined by Phillippa Hannah, Patrick George, Evans Ogboi, Lurine Cato (pictured left) and Upmass Choir for CRE’s first major evening concert at ExCeL. Philippa has grown from her roots in the Gospel scene to be one of the UK’s most engaging and inspiring songwriters. As well as taking in hundreds of solo tour dates, she has toured alongside Lionel Richie, Wet Wet Wet, Rebecca Fergusson and Collabro. She has appeared on BBC Radio 2, Songs of Praise and published two books, More and Following the Breadcrumbs, tracing the ‘everyday miracles’ of her Christian faith.Patrick George and the UpMass Choir hail from Luton. Patrick was a member of GSI (Gospel Singers Inc), semi-finalists on TV’s Britain’s Got Talent. The choir has performed all over the UK and recently returned from a successful tour of Italy.Evans Ogboi is a gifted singer, songwriter, music producer and recording artiste. He is the music director of the award-winning Living Faith Connections Mass Choir in London.Lurine Cato’s talent is born from changes after a painful past. Her style is eclectic including soft rock, pop, RnB, jazz and of course, traditional Gospel. In October 2013, Lurine won the BEFFTA Award for Best Gospel Act.Ibe Giantkiller is a presenter on Premier Gospel and award-winning producer.Toni Kelly is a radio presenter on Ruach Radio, minister at Ruach City Church, preacher, host and inspirational speaker. Meanwhile, the Worship Zone at CRE is for anyone involved in leading the devotional aspect of their church or for budding songwriters who want to improve their craft. The zone is organised by Red Letter Music and will feature seminars, performances and resources throughout the show’s four days.
