The Deaf Education Advocacy Fellowship are currently running Level 1 and Level 2 courses in British Sign Language! Our next available dates to start the course for Level 1 is the 24th October 2016 and the classes will start at 18:30-20:30 every Monday evening. Our next available dates to start the course for Level 2 is the 26th October and the classes will start at 18:30-20:30 every Wednesday evening. The course is designed to teach you how to communicate easily with the deaf community, from finger spelling to having a simple conversation. This course is accredited under "Signature" the awarding body. There are over 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK and only approximately 70 thousand people who can use sign language, so we really want to encourage more people to learn this valuable skill. Over 12,000 live in the NORTHWEST. Learning to sign is not only enjoyable but also crucial if you work with the general public, enabling effective communication with the deaf community.
